Audi S6 launched in India At Rs 85.99 Lakh

Audi India has launched the S6 today at the Buddh International Circuit in Noida at Rs 85.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Audi S6 is basically a performance version of the company’s best-selling A6 sedan. Under the hood of the S6 is a 4.0 litre V8 TFSI petrol engine mated to a 7-speed S Tronic DSG transmission. The powerplant will deliver 426PS of maximum power at 1400 rpm and 550 Nm of peak torque at 5300 rpm.

The S6 is capable of travelling from zero to 100 kmph in merely 4.6 seconds and has an electronically controlled top speed of 250kmph. Power is transferred to all four wheels thanks to the Audi Quattro technology.

The petrol motor powering the S6 will benefits from ‘Cylinder On Demand’ system that boosts the fuel efficiency by deactivating four cylinders under certain conditions and claims an ARAI ratified mileage of 10.3kmpl.

The S6 is 16mm longer than an A6 and has a kerb weight of 1,895 kg. Externally, there is little to differentiate the S6 from its sibling apart from the ‘S’ badges.

The Audi S6 will compete with the BMW M5 and the soon-to-be-launched Mercedes E63 AMG (launching on July 25).

With the S6, Audi India has launched two performance oriented cars back-to-back (Audi India launched the 2013 RS 5 on July 2).
